House Venn

This project features a thoughtfully designed landscape and garden for a new residence in Stonehurst Estate, Cape Town. The design takes advantage of the natural slope of the site, creating seamless transitions between spaces and levels. By carefully blending terraces with the land’s contours, the changes in elevation become nearly unnoticeable, ensuring a smooth and organic flow throughout the garden. An indigenous yet contemporary plant palette has been selected to enhance the natural beauty of the surroundings while maintaining a modern aesthetic. Each area within the garden is designed with purpose, offering varied spaces for different activities. The lower part of the garden features a reflective area, providing a tranquil retreat for relaxation and contemplation. With an emphasis on clever design, natural integration, and functional outdoor living, this landscape creates a harmonious balance between structure and nature, elevating both aesthetics and usability.
